How we can help

Learning Services combines the skills and talents from Academic Skills Advisors, Academic Liaison Librarians and eLearning Developers. Members within the team are aligned to disciplines and will work closely with you. Some of the main areas include:

  • Searching for information
  • Using library resources and online catalogues
  • Referencing
  • Assignment planning
  • Learning with specific learning difficulties
  • Academic and study skills
  • Using technologies in learning
  • Study support for International Students

How can you access help

Learning Services run a number of scheduled workshops throughout the year. These are designed to complement our 1:1 bookable appointments, and any bespoke workshops we run within the curriculum on request of course teams.

If you need help then our team of Academic Skills Advisers and Academic Liaison Librarians are here to help.  Please see the next tab on how to book a 1:1 appointment.

1:1 bookable appointments can be made with an Academic Skills Advisers or an Academic Liaison Librarians for your subject. Students can book two appointments per week - up to 1 hour with an Academic Skills Advisor and up to one hour with an Academic Liaison Librarians. If you require more than one hour long appointment this can be discussed with the Academic Skills Adviser/Academic Liaison Librarian concerned.

If you are studying at Ipswich, you can book through the Infozone, through our booking system or by emailing the person you would like to see.

If you are studying at one of the other University of Suffolk centres, you will need to contact the Library at that centre if you need one-to-one support.

If you are an international student studying at University of Suffolk and would like advice please contact Mark Illman.

Learning Services Team at University of Suffolk provides a guide for all workshop and  online course information. The aim of this guide is to provide an effective learning experience online which mirrors our highly effective face to face workshops. This will allow students and staff at University of Suffolk more flexibility within developing their study skills.
