Course Introduction

This online tutorial will help you to get started finding information that you need for your assignment, it will introduce you to some of the types of information you will come across at University and you will also find out how to use the search tool Summon to find books and journal articles.

You will find this tutorial helpful if you are new to University of Suffolk and searching for information, it will take you approximately one to two hours to complete and is a mix of videos, quizzes and reading. By the end you will understand the nature and characteristics of books, journals and websites and be able to search for material with confidence using our Summon search page.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session, you should be able to;

  • decide on appropriate web sources for information
  • use the Summon search page to find books, journals and e-resources
