During the coming weekend of 27 & 28 July, there are works taking place in the University of Suffolk Library building in readiness for improvements to the roof and windows which will affect the use of the Library Building.

Saturday 27 July – Loss of power

On Saturday 27 July the Library will experience a loss of power due to essential electrical maintenance to the building. The work will start at 9am, with power due to be returned at approx. 1pm the same day. The outage will affect power, lighting and networks throughout the library including, lift access, WIFI, PC’s, printers and telephones. The library will remain open during this time for you to access, borrow, return and renew physical stock. Online services accessed from off campus, such as your library account, our website and electronic resources will not be affected and you will be able to access all online services as normal.

Once power has been restored, IT services within the library building should be considered at risk throughout the rest of the day. Please make sure if you are working in the library during this time you save your work at regular intervals.

Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July – L1.09, PC Suite closure

Due to works taking place to improve the roof to the Library Building, some preliminary work will need to take place within L1.09, PC suite to protect the ceiling inside the room. To minimize disruption this work will take place during the coming weekend. The room will need to be sealed off for the duration of the weekend and will be completely inaccessible. If you wish to study in the library during this period, we advise you make use of our other quiet, silent and group study areas. The Waterfront Building will also be open 24 hours a day during this time.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope to have everything restored as soon as we can.
