Every year we gather feedback from you in various ways so that we can improve our services and put you at the heart of the decisions we make.
This years feedback has been obtained in response to the National Student Survey results, Course Committee attendance and Have your say forms, including comment cards in the library. We have also held two Critical Friends events, in which we asked you questions around our workshops and the library environment.
Take a look at the below to see what improvements we have made as a result of your feedback this year and a full list of the responses gathered.
Over the summer period Learning Services have collated and digested all your feedback from the previous year. If you have visited us over the summer months, you will have noticed a lot of work taking place which we hope will improve your experience of being in the library and working here, and address some of your comments and suggestions for improvement.
As part of an upgrade to our training room (L1.07) this year , we have repurposed some newer laptops and made them available for students to loan. The newer laptops are much faster, hold their charge longer and generally look and feel a lot cleaner. We hope you like them!

One of the largest pieces of work that has taken place this summer, is the re opening of the first floor toilets in the library. The toilets had been closed for many years following drainage issues, which have now been fixed. They have had a full refurbishment and are now open and available for your use.

You told us that you would like there to be more available to you in the library, especially hot drinks and snacks out of hours. Thanks to the work that has been undertaken to the toilets in the library, we now have running water available facilitate a hot drinks and snack vending machine. We really hope that this will make studying in the library more comfortable for you.

We have replaced the windows in the book stock area, the Post Graduate Study and Silent study room. We do hope that this will improve ventilation and noise disruption in these areas.
We are still working on getting this up and running, but it will a great asset for you to be able to access the Library from the Atrium Building and vise versa. We hope to have this in place before the start of Semester 2.
