As Academic Development Manager, I work with my colleagues in the Department of Library and Learning Services to support the learning, teaching and research opportunities offered at the University of Suffolk. We work collaboratively with partners across all university services and teams to develop the skills and knowledge needed by students and staff to support and safeguard their future success.
I have a range of experience both within and external to the university sector, having been a social and economic regeneration project developer for the EU Objective One programme in Cornwall at the end of the 1990s, subsequently working in private and public sector positions including research business management, and most recently as a university teacher and researcher with practical experience in the delivery of face to face and online education at all levels from foundational and Access through to postgraduate qualifications.
I am a digital humanities practitioner, and an advocate for multi-disciplinary collaboration. I welcome opportunities to build and promote innovative research, considering academic development to be an unbounded and inclusive spectrum of activities that range from the skills to support the earliest beginnings of educational attainment through to the most demanding applications of postgraduate research.
