Workshop Aims and Outcomes

Aim

The workshop is for students on nursing courses who wish for further help with the mathematical content involved in drug calculations. It will cover relevant general mathematics work as well as specific drug calculations that are relevant for assessments. The workshop will include a presentation with examples and practice questions for students.

Learning Outcomes 

The workshop will aim for students to be able to:

  • convert between metric units
  • use percentages
  • calculate the number of tablets required from stock available
  • calculate liquid volume of drug required from stock available
  • perform calculations IV with drop rates
