Note: guidance for students on how to access Virtual Classroom is available via an FAQ entry on the student support pages for Brightspace. A separate entry shows how they can view a recording.
Issue: Virtual Classroom does not work with Safari browser, please use Google Chrome, Firefox or Edge.
Once you’ve followed the steps to set up the Virtual Classroom session (and shared the external link if necessary), these instructions will talk you through how to deliver the session.
Before you begin, you’ll need to make sure that your computer has a working microphone (or that you’ve plugged one in). If you wish for others to see you, you’ll also need to make sure that your webcam is working.
It’s a good idea to test these in advance. If you’d like to practice setting up Virtual Classrooms in a module without students, you can request a Brightspace sandbox which only you will have access to.
It’s also a good idea to have your Presentation saved as a PDF. This is the best format to upload for display in Virtual Classroom.
PLEASE NOTE - As of 24/6/2021 Bongo Virtual Classroom will support the use of up-to 30 synchronous webcam feeds within a Virtual Classroom session!
