John Arnett

John Arnett
Academic Skills Advisor

I started working as an ASA here in May 2015, not long after moving to E. Anglia. I currently work Tuesdays and Wednesdays and have a particular responsibility for Nursing and Health students. My career has mostly been as a lecturer in English in Further Education, in N. London. I have taught English Language and Literature at all levels, from adult literacy to GCSE,  A level and Teacher Training. I have also worked as a dyslexia support tutor at Roehampton University and as a freelance writer of educational materials for Oxford University Press. I have written a number of articles on aspects of teaching and learning, published in TES, Adults Learning, The Lecturer and other journals.

All of this has been invaluable experience for the job of ASA!   Working with students from a wide variety of courses and backgrounds here at UOS makes for a fascinating job.  Good luck with your studies and I hope to meet you soon.
