Academic Development Team

My role is focused on providing opportunities for all members of our university community to improve their academic skills. I have previously worked at the University of Suffolk as a Lecturer, and coordinated a peer support scheme. Before this, I worked at the University of Warwick, and IT companies such as Cisco Systems Inc and Apple Inc.

Currently, I facilitate sessions such as:

  • Individual appointments (in person/Skype).
  • In course skills sessions (predominately with the School of Health Sciences and the School of Creative Technologies, Science and Design)
  • Functional Skills.
  • General skills workshops (L3 - L7).

I have longstanding research interests in education, cultural studies, and biopolitics. My teaching has been inspired by theories advocated by writers such as Freire, Ranciere, and Hook. I see my current role as someone who advocates inclusivity, action learning, self-efficacy.
