Academic Development Team

 

My role is focused on providing opportunities for all members of our university community to improve their academic skills.

Currently, I facilitate sessions such as:

  • Individual appointments (in person/Microsoft Teams).
  • In course skills sessions (predominately with the School of Health and Sports Sciences)
  • Functional Skills English L2.
  • Academic and Study Skills workshops (L3 - L7).

My teaching has been inspired by theories advocated by writers such as Freire, Ranciere, and Hook. I see my current role as someone who advocates inclusivity, action learning, self-efficacy.

Academic qualifications:

  • PgC Perspectives of Dyslexia and Literacy, British Dyslexia Association (to be completed March 2021) 
  • PgC Academic Practice, University of Suffolk.
  • MA Social Research, University of Warwick.
  • BA (Hons) Sociology with Specialism in Social Policy (with Intercalated Year Abroad, Charles University, Czech Republic), University of Warwick.
