Academic Development Team
As an Academic Skills Advisor, I work with learners to develop academic skills such as planning, reading, note-taking, writing and critical thinking.
Areas of work and interest:
- Skills development programmes and sessions (in person/e-learning, online guidance).
- Pre-study skills programme coordinator and facilitator.
- In-course academic and study skills sessions.
- Functional Skills (English) assessor and internal quality assessor.
- Specialist Study Skills Tutor (DSA & Apprenticeship LSF) for learners with Specific Learning Differences.
- Staff development sessions on SpLD and Learning Technology.
- Teaching Mentor for PGCAP students.
I also have experience in coordinating peer support programmes. I see my current role as someone who advocates inclusivity, action learning, and self-efficacy.

- PgC Structured Teaching Intervention for Dyslexia and Literacy (Specialist Teacher), Dyslexia Action and Middlesex University.
- PgC Academic Practice, University of Suffolk.
- MA Social Research, University of Warwick.
- BA (Hons) Sociology with Specialism in Social Policy (with Intercalated Year Abroad, Charles University, Czech Republic), University of Warwick.
