Jayne Hammond

Library Services Assistant

My current role is Library Services Assistant.  I have worked within the Library and Learning Services team since 2014, learning about all aspects of working in a library.

I have a Certificate in Education and in 2015 I achieved an MA Arts Practice from the University of Suffolk.

I started my working career as an Insurance clerk working within a motor claims department.  In 1997 I changed career and trained to become a Professional Florist.   I achieved national industry qualifications which enabled me to teach within Further and Higher Education.

Throughout my ten year career as a floristry lecturer, I had opportunities to work with international floral artists, enter national floristry competitions and create designs for large scale events.

I currently work part time in the library; my main tasks are working on the library helpdesk resolving queries and resources requests.  Acquisition tasks assisting librarians to purchase new books, journals and editing reading lists. Quality assurance and data inputting related user service statistics.
