Intro

A presentation can be defined as a speech or talk in which a piece of work, an idea, or a new product is shown and explained to an audience.

Presentations are often assigned as a way of assessing communication of information to an audience.

The presentation assigned may be individual or involve the introduction of more extended topics requiring teamwork.  In an academic setting, a presentation can often follow on as an extension activity to present the content of an essay task or a research paper.

The ability to give a presentation is a skill that is required in many professions and so provides the opportunity to practice a useful transferable skill.
