This blog post is for any students or staff, who have used the Dawsons eBook platform and have saved any books or notes to their Bookshelf.

We are sad to inform you, that in June 2020, Bertram Books (of which Dawsonera is part of) went into administration.

It has been confirmed that the current Dawsonera platform will be available until at least 31 July.

Library & Learning Services are planning to retain access to as many eBooks as possible, and make these available on alternative eBook platforms in the near future.  However, we are not able to retain any personal notes you may have attached to Dawsonera books. We recommend that you download any notes that you wish to keep as soon as possible and to stop adding new ones.

How to download and export notes from Dawsonera

  • Go to Dawsonera by clicking here
  • Login using your University of Suffolk username and password
  • Select: ‘My Account’ > ‘Recently viewed’ or ‘My Bookshelf’ > Select an eBook, ‘Read Online > ‘Notes’ > ‘Export’
  • Saving notes

The file will download as a .rtf which can be opened by most word processing software.  Unfortunately, there is not an option to save all the notes at once.  You will need to save each book individually.

If you have any queries, please contact learningservices@uos.ac.uk
