Study Spaces: Silent Study

Silent Study

For those of you who prefer a calm and focused environment for your studies, our silent study area is the perfect spot. This designated space provides the silence you need to concentrate, delve into your research, or immerse yourself in deep learning. Whether you need to review course materials, read through textbooks, or work on independent projects, this space offers the serenity and solitude necessary for productive and contemplative study.

You can find the Silent Study Room at the back of the Main Book Collection in room L106.

The key takeaways:

  • Individual study
  • Phones set to silent; all calls to be taken out of the space
  • Low noise level
  • No food permitted

Report Disruptive Behaviour

We conduct hourly library patrols, but we don't always know when someone is being disruptive. Help us maintain a comfortable Library atmosphere and let us know if someone is:

  • Talking loudly in a designated quiet study area
  • Talking in a designated silent study area
  • Making a call in a quiet or silent study area
  • Eating food in a designated quiet or silent study area
  • Eating hot food
  • Behaving inappropriately

Tell us who, what and where, by texting our Library hotline anonymously on 07921234256 or using the Live Chat function on our site. The library team will ensure that the rules are being upheld.
