Renew

Log on to    My account

You will need to enter your University of Suffolk ID in the box on the right hand side of the screen.

Once logged in you will see your Account Information, telling you how many books you have on loan and how many reservations you have.

Click Loans or on your name to renew your books.

On the next screen you will see a list of all the items you have on loan. Tick the box next to the item that you wish to renew and click Renew button. Each item needs to be renewed individually.

If there is a problem (e.g. if someone else has reserved the item) the system will tell you.

The new due date will appear in the Due Date column.

Reserve

Reservations can be placed on items that are on loan or available in the library. You can reserve items on the University of Suffolk Ipswich library catalogue,by logging in with your University of Suffolk student or staff number.

We will keep reservations for 7 days before passing them on to the next person, or returning them to the shelves.

Once you have found an item you would like to  reserve just click the Reserve button. If you have not logged in previously it will prompt you to do so now.

The next screen will confirm whether your reservation was successful. It will also tell you whether you are the first, second or third reserver and also the availability of the item.

Reservations that are available will be checked throughout the day. You will receive an email when your item is ready for collection.

1st& 2nd Undergraduates, Postgraduates and staff 8 reservations
Final year undergraduates 10 reservations

Reservations can be collected during library opening hours.

They are shelved to the left handside of the library helpdesk. The books will remain on the shelves for 7 days.

To find your reservation you will need the first three letters of your surname and the last four digits of your student number - for example  John Smith, s123456 will be shelved under SMI...3456. Books are reserved alphabetically and then numerically.

Once you have retrieved your item(s) from the reservation shelves, you need to borrow them through the self-issue kiosks.

If you decide you no longer need an item or a request was made in error, you can cancel the reservations by logging in to your library account.

Click the number opposite the Reserved label or click the Account link at the top of the screen. Tick the box by the item(s) you want to cancel and click Cancel. If you are happy to proceed, click Yes.
