24/7 Library Access

We are excited to be able to announce the news that Library and Learning Services are now able to provide you with 24 hour access to our Library at Ipswich.

This has been driven by Amy Grant, Vice President of the Students’ Union, who was elected with this as part of her manifesto. Since coming into office, she has been working with us to make this student feedback a reality.

We are initially offering 24/7 opening at significant points over the academic calendar, as follows:

  • 1st April 2019 – 2nd June 2019
  • 1st December 2019 – 12th January 2020
  • 30th March 2020 – 31st May 2020

Full opening hours are available on the Library and Learning Services website, including alternate times for bank holidays and institutional closures over the Christmas period.

We are hopeful that these extended opening hours will have a really positive impact on your experience, improving your campus facilities, and giving you opportunities to work more flexibly.

Students’ Union and Library and Learning Services will work together to review the uptake and success of these identified 24/7 periods in 2020. We will then be able to make recommendations for future academic years.

The library will be staffed by library assistants during our core hours*, who will be able to guide you and answer any questions you may have. Any additional hours will be manned by colleagues in security.

We hope this great news is received with as much excitement as it has given us.

*core hours - Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 9.00pm. Weekends: 9.00am to 5pm.
