Learning and Teaching for Apprenticeships

Guidance for the design, delivery and review of learning, teaching and assessment for apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships at the University of Suffolk

The University deliver a number of apprenticeships at Levels 3 to 7, across all of its academic Schools. The delivery of our learning, teaching and assessment on our apprenticeship programmes aligns with the academic experience we have designed for all of our students across all of our programmes. There are, however, additional considerations for the design, delivery and quality assurance of our learning, teaching and assessment for apprenticeships. This includes:

  • induction onto programmes
  • the completion of Tripartite reviews as well as Personal Academic Coach tutorials
  • integrated guidance and teaching of transferrable skills and career progression
  • achievement of Functional Skills level 2 English and Maths
  • ongoing development of English and Maths through curricular for all learners
  • the design of assessment to reflect the link and impact of on and off the job training.

This guide provides you with guidance and resources to help you to design and review the design of your curricular and learning activities on apprenticeship programmes, and highlights the CPD available to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence in your delivery.
