Portfolios: Portfolios & reflective writing

Reflective Writing

As well as containing concrete evidence/examples of your development and achievements, your portfolio may also contain written reflections on your experiences – exploring your thoughts and feelings on a range of issues linked to your evidence.

For example, you may be required to reflect on:

  • Your understanding of a particular issue, subject, event, artefact etc.
  • A particular course of action, explaining what happened, what went well, what didn’t go so well and how you might do things differently in future
  • Your own professional development
  • Your learning journey as a student, identifying particular achievements, challenges and future objectives
