One-to-one Appointments: ASA Appointments

Welcome to the ASA appointments page. Here you will find all the information you need to get help from one of our Academic Skills Advisors.

Academic Skills Advisors

We’ve improved our appointment process thanks to your feedback.
How it works:

  • Book an initial academic skills appointment online using the blue button below.
  • You can book a one hour initial appointment; initial appointments are available up to four weeks in advance for School aligned advisors or two weeks for general advisors.
  • If you require a follow up appointment, you can discuss this with your advisor in your initial appointment.

Our Academic Skills Advisors are aligned to your subject and courses areas. We would recommend seeing the advisor that is aligned to your courses. However, if they are unavailable at the time you would like, you are able to select 'No Preference' on the booking system to see any of the Advisors, if one is available at that time.

  • Adam Devine - Health and Sports Science
  • Alex Read - Health and Sports Science
  • Chrissie Dacosta - Social Science & Humanities /PG
  • Jack Rundell - Social Science & Humanities / PG
  • Elle Wills - EAST /SBS
  • Vicky Young - EAST/SBS

If for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment, you must cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment time otherwise, this will be recorded as a 'used' slot.

If you require support in making a booking, you can email us at learningservices@uos.ac.uk or call us on 01473 338 700.

If you are unable to attend a 1-2-1 appointment in person, it may be possible to schedule a Microsoft Teams appointment. Please read our  Teams appointment guide for further information.

A Skype appointment may be particularly useful if you are on placement. If you require time away from your placement to access skills support, you should liaise with your placement provider in the first instance and, if needed, contact an academic member of staff to discuss your requirements.

We would recommend seeing the advisor that is aligned to your courses.  However, if they are unavailable at the time you would like, you are able to select 'No Preference' on the booking system to see any of the Advisors, if one is available at that time.
