Creating your abstract

An effective abstract is your first opportunity to hone your message.  The abstract should be a succinct description of your work and should:

  • Explain why your work is important
  • Describe the objectives of your work
  • Briefly explain the methods used for your research/project/study
  • Succinctly state results, conclusions and recommendations

Although the abstract is an important component of poster creation that can serve as an outline for developing your final work, it should NOT be included on your poster.
