Logging into Brightspace
Accessing Brightspace is very simple. You can go directly to https://brightspace.uos.ac.uk.
Once you're at the login page, your username and password will be the same ones that you use to access your email or a networked computer on campus. When you're new to the University, this will typically be your S-number@uos.ac.uk and your date of birth (ddMonyy). For example:
- Username: S1234567@uos.ac.uk
- Password: 01Jan85
Of course, it's always a good idea to change your password to a unique one that's impossible for others to guess.
The login screen will look like this:
Enter your S-number@uos.ac.uk then click on "Next".
Then enter your password and click on "Sign In".
You might need to set up the Multifactor Authentication (MFA) to add an extra layer of security to your Microsoft 365 account sign-in. For example, you first enter your password and, when prompted, you also type a dynamically generated verification code provided by an authenticator app or sent to your phone via text. You will not have to authenticate every time you sign in, but you will need to authenticate when using a new device.
