Evening and Weekend Guide

Pull List

Patrons can make reservations by logging into their online library account, or by contacting the helpdesk so that we can reserve on their behalf.

Pull List should be run:

  • Weekdays: 9am, 2pm, 6pm
  • Weekends: 9am and 3pm

To run the Pull List:

  1. Login to WMS
  2. Navigate to the circulation menu, and select 'Reports' from the navigation bar to the left of your screen
  3. Click 'Pull List'. This will open a list of reservations to be collected. These can be printed by checking the boxes to the left of the item and clicking 'Print' at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Additional item information and alternative accession numbers can be sourced by clicking the blue hyperlinked item title.
  5. Return items using the 'Check In' screen. This will automatically allocate the items to the first reserver. Print all reservation slips
  6. Place slips inside appropriate items
  7. Organise items alphabetically on hold shelf

Clear Hold Shelf

Items reserved are to be held on the hold shelf for one week only. In practice, this means that the expired holds process should be completed 8 days from the date recorded on the slip.

For example:

Placed on Hold: Monday 21st March Tuesday 22nd March
Removed:  Tuesday 29th March Wednesday 30th March

The Clear Hold Shelf report should be run every evening after removing expired holds from the reservations shelf.

  1. Search for any missing items on the shelving trollies, in the returns bins, and at its usual shelf mark.
  2. If the item is found, scan it in on WMS and reshelve.
  3. If the item is not found, report the item as missing on WMS and submit a Stock Request Form.

We should not be contacting the hold requestor as part of this process - contacting students unnecessarily can confuse them about their responsibility for items.

For guidance on how to report a book missing on WMS, please see the instructions below:
