Library Services Assistant Guide

Circulation & Literature Searching

You will be expected to support patrons with circulation questions and literature searching at the helpdesk, over LibAnswers and LibChat.

WMS contains all catalogued material (print books and DVDs) and online resources.

It is encouraged that second and third-year students also use external databases and journals via the A-Z of eResources and A-Z of eJournals.

Please see the instruction guides below for more information:

Circulation

Loan Types

At the University of Suffolk, we have four loan types.

Loan Type Spine Label Loan Length
3 week loan Green (older labels appear white) 3 weeks

Please note, patrons that have incurred fees of £10 or higher will have a loan stop placed on their account. This will prevent them from issuing more books or renewing their current loans.

Students with SENDA status are entitled to an extra week on 1 week loans, but no additional time for 3 week loans.
