Course Design Blueprint: Course Management

Course management

We are changing the way we manage courses at the University of Suffolk. the changes are driven by a desire to ensure course teams have access to data which helps showcase areas of great practice and which helps to identify areas where improvements can be made. We believe this will help to foster a culture of data driven iterative enhancement through the lifecycle of a validated programme.

What data is included?

The data we include will help us to ensure our courses can see their course is performing against measures used by the OfS. These include measures driven by student voice and the National Student Survey: teaching and learning, assessment and feedback, academic support, student voice, and organisation and management. We will also include data driven by student outcomes: continuation, completion, attainment and progression. Each of these data sets directly impacts the University's performance for the Teaching Excellence Framework and B3. We will also include module evaluation data which will be gathered through our new approach to module evaluation.

How will data be accessed?

We are in the process of building some dashboards which will be piloted with course areas from January 2025. Each dashboard wil also provide filters which enable data to be viewed by academic year, study level, and module. We have included a representation of we expect data and performance to be visualised below.
